Barbara C. Hurt

Barbara C. Hurt, age 91, of Indianapolis, passed away January 28, 2018. She was born in Akron, OH on October 28, 1926 to parents, Cary Stewart and Mary Anna (Wise) Fenner.  She retired from G.W.Berheimer Co., Inc. in 1977, where she worked as a secretary.  Barbara graduated from Broad Ripple High School.  At the age of six, Barbara began her career as a dancer.  She was a member of the Indianapolis Ballet Company and would often travel to Chicago with her dancing partner to dance.  She also enjoyed golfing.

Barbara was recently preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Harry R. Hurt, whom passed away on December 17, 2017.  They were married on December 5, 1947.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Chris T. Stanfill; grandson, Richard Stanfill (Jayne); and great-grandson, Riley Stanfill.

A memorial gathering will be held from 12:30pm until 2pm on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, with her memorial service to immediately follow at 2pm.  Entombment will be private in Washington Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation (AMDF).
