Barbara Ann (Beard) Waskom passed away February 9, 2025, at 87 years old. She was born December 21, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William Clyde and Dorothy Carmen (Croddy) Ellett. After High School Barbara attended Johnson Bible College in Tennessee. She was a Store Manager for Stationer’s for many years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Thrive Church, formerly Seerley Creek Christian Church. She is survived by her loving children, Karen (Geoff) Crooks, Karla (Martin) Kincade, Jamie May, Sarah James, her grandchildren, Daniel (Melanie), Jennifer (Kevin), Zacharie (Brittany), Heather (Rob), Michael, Kristopher (Miche), Valerie (Benjamin), Derek, Taylor (Jared), Brandon, Jr., Carl, Sarah Christine (Chris), Amber, Scott, Darlene, her 22 great grandchildren, her sister, Norma Blackmore, her brother, Gary (Janet) Ellett, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Beard, John Waskom, her son, Donald Beard, her sister, Elizabeth Craig, and her brother-in-law, Edward Blackmore. Please join the family for a Memorial Service on Friday, February 21, 2025, 2:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township. Pastor Steve Bolin will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana privately. Flanner Buchanan is entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
