Barbara Nell Baugh

Barbara N. Baugh of Indiana went to heaven on Monday, April 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and her best friend, Rea Robertson, by her side.

Born on Christmas Day in 1943 to Dorothy and Vernon Armour, Barbara grew up in Kentucky, where she began a lifelong career in nursing. From 1965 to 1972, she served patients at Muhlenberg County Hospital and Daviess County Hospital. In March 1972, she moved to Indiana and began work at Methodist Hospital - a decision that would shape the rest of her life.

On July 4, 1972, Barbara met the love of her life, Larry D. Baugh. They were engaged the very next day and married on September 23, 1972. Their love and devotion to each other were unwavering until Larry’s passing.

Barbara was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), dedicated to the wellbeing and comfort of others. Her warmth, humor, and care made her beloved by patients, coworkers, and the many friends she gathered along the way.

Barbara is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Michele “Shelly” and Billy Erickson, her cherished grandchildren Khristina (Bryan Reed) and Kenneth; and great-grandson Elijah. She is also survived by her brothers Earl Franklin Armour (Penny) and Danny Armour (Lisa); her sister-in-law, Debbie Armour; and a “bonus” family she deeply loved: Kenny & Brianna, Dana, Boris, and little Boris.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Vernon Armour; her husband Larry D. Baugh; her son Larry Michael “Mike” Baugh; her brothers Jimmie Lee Armour, Bobby Armour, and Donnie Armour; her sister Carolyn Sue Todd; and her favorite brother-in-law Paul Todd.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith. Her memory will be lovingly carried by many nieces, nephews, and dear family friends - including Little David Gregory, Heather Todd, Chris and Sara Somerville, Christina Armour and her best friend Rea Robertson.

Barbara’s compassion and strength touched all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
