Barbara Ann Moore

October 2, 1942 — October 7, 2022

Indianapolis

Barbara Ann Moore, 80, of Indianapolis, went to her eternal home in heaven on October 7th, 2022. She was born October 2nd, 1942, in Evansville, the daughter of late Otto and Lucille (Bray) Kessler. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1960. She was married two years later and began to raise a family. While her youngest was still a toddler, she began a babysitting service from her home so she could be home for her children and still provide for them. She went on to babysit for the next 47 years, touching countless lives. She continued her babysitting service until just a few weeks before she passed away. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was an instrumental part in helping raise several of them while their parents worked. She had a special relationship with her “grand babies” as she would call them. She was known for her quick wit, being stubborn when she needed to be, and most importantly her caring nature. She enjoyed collecting handbells from all over the world. She liked watching Jeopardy, Golden Girls, and Matlock on TV. She loved birdwatching out her windows and made sure they always had a full feeder so they would come back. She was an active member of Northwood Christian Church in Indianapolis for more than 50 years, and was a member of the handbell choir there for most of those years. Barbara is survived by four children: David (Sandy) Moore of Iola, WI, Deborah Williford of Indianapolis, Dawn (Bruce) Fuqua of South Bend, and Daniel (Julie) Moore of Franklin; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law George Williford III. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17th, 2022, at Flanner Buchanan- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis.
