Barbara Alice Qualls

Barbara Alice (Kelly) Qualls, 81, resident of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away April 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was married for 61 years to Claude J. Qualls who survives her.  She was born in Dryden, VA and graduated from Dryden High School.

She formerly lived in Indianapolis where she worked 4 years at RCA and owned and operated a beauty shop for 4 years. She worked at A T&T for a total of 28 years, starting In Indianapolis and relocating to Shreveport in 1985.

Barbara was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Claude, three brothers: Carl Kelly, Samuel Kelly (Eva), Roger Kelly (Scharlee), and three sisters: Rachel Orr (Wayne), Ruby Ping (Bobby), Judy Clemons (Jess). Another brother, Irven Kelly (Ann) preceded her in death. She is also survived by two special nieces, Leanne Lopez and Gwynne Toellner, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as a host of other family members.  Barbara also leaves behind four special friends:  Millie Norris, Alice Smith, Marilyn Smith and Betty Booty.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sew Much More Ministry at Summer Grove Baptist Church under the care of Jackie Saxon.  (8924 Jewella Ave, Shreveport, LA 71118).

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite). Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting flannerbuchanan.com.
