Averil "Andy" Leota Williams

Averil “Andy” L. Williams,

88, of Indianapolis, passed away April 7, 2018. She was born June 14, 1929 in Lakeview, Ohio.

Andy married Paul H. Williams on August 26, 1952. They were married 48 years until his passing in December of 2000.

Andy is succeeded by three children, David (Denise) L. Williams, Diana Williams and Wrae Jean Ellar. She has 6 grandchildren and has 8 great grandchildren, soon to be 10.

Andy was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Lelah Anderson; her husband, Paul H. Williams; and her twin sister, Avis Anderson, who passed at seven days old.

Andy was on the board for Avon Christian Church beginning in 1969. She was involved in the new construction of the church and volunteered many hours in the kitchen catering for events.

Andy was the Welcome Wagon lady in Avon for several years. She made many friends in the community. She had a very contagious laugh. She is remembered by many for her sense of humor and smile. She loved to bowl. Andy has been a member of the Eastern Star Lynhurst Lodge since the mid 70’s. She and her husband, Paul, spent winters in Bonita Springs, FL after retirement in 1988. Andy was also an Avon Representative in the Avon and Ben Davis area for several years.
