Aurella "Artie" G. Holder

Aurella Grace Holder passed away January 22, 2025.

Artie was born June 2, 1937, in Alton, Illinois to the late George McCann, Sr. and Cratta (Harlen) McCann. She married the love of her life, Harold Kenneth Holder on November 15, 1967, he preceded her in death.

Artie was a tiny lady with a big presence. A proud matriarch of a large family who was her greatest joy. Artie loved to read, crochet, work puzzles and was an avid bowler in her younger years. She was a huge sports fan and never missed a Pacers basketball game, Packers football game, or Cardinals baseball game.

Artie enjoyed hosting family and friends leaving lasting memories to many of great times at her house on the lane.

She will be greatly missed by many. Her family takes solace knowing she is reunited with her beloved Kenneth.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by sisters Marcella “Sis” Wilson, Verla Peal, and Birdella “Dolly” Barnes; and brother Melvin McCann.

Artie is survived by her children Daywyn (Mike) Scott, Dave (Julie) Holder, Tage (Patty) Holder, Grace Holder, and Scott (Lisa) Holder; sisters Evada (Bake) Bruce and Melvina (Jitter) Stockton; brother George (Jeep) McCann, Jr.; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
