Aurelea "Lee" Anne Phipps

Aurelea “Lee” Anne Phipps, 84, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on December 6, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents, Paul and Lucille Dixon. She married the love of her life, Phillip, on October 29, 1955, and then moved around the country and to Germany as an Army wife. She raised six children and moved to Indianapolis in 1976. She was a Lifetime Girl Scout and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a talented crocheter and gifted piano player. She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Phillip; her daughter, Victoria (Bruce) Shackett; son, Phil Phipps; son, Mark Phipps; daughter, Debi McGee; son, Michael (Reba) Phipps; and son, Paul (Andrea) Phipps; granddaughter, Michelle Phipps; granddaughter, Jennifer (Tim) Stapleton; grandson, Joey (Christina) Utley; grandson, Paul (Joetta) Phipps; granddaughter, Mandi (Jonathan) York; grandson, Josh (Rebecca) Shackett; grandson, Michael Phipps; granddaughter, Nicole McGee; and grandson, Kyle (Crystal) Phipps; sisters, Mona Lu Dixon and Lucille Dixon; and brother, Mervin Dixon. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Preston, Sophia, and Caroline; Aubriana, Ashton, and Luci; Mariah; Catherine; Lucas and Abigail. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lucille, and great-granddaughter, Christina Phipps.

Flowers are welcome.  Donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.

Visitation will be held for family and friends on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East with a Rosary Service at 4:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church – 46^th Street.
