Atef Lotfi Iskander, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 4, 2019. Atef was born on September 16, 1946 in Egypt to Lotfi and Foutny Iskander. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Cairo University, and later moved to the United States in 1970. He was proud to become a citizen of the United States in 1976. He had a successful finance career spanning nearly 50 years where he achieved success working his way to CFO and creating many successful companies throughout the years. He enjoyed working in the yard, exercising, talking about finance and the stock market, and traveling to faraway countries or relaxing on the beach. Atef was a proud and loving father, sweet grandfather, and supportive and cherished friend that will be missed by so many. He leaves behind his sons Peter, his wife Wendy; Tony, his wife Stephanie; Chris; Steve, his wife Amber; his sisters Nivine Guirguis, her husband Amin, and Nagwa Iskander; and his 4 grandchildren Justin, Tony, Mackenzie and Addison. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family are invited to gather from 10:00am-12:00pm on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Saint Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, 8155 Oaklandon Road, Indianapolis, IN; a funeral mass will follow at 12:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Atef’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society or his church, Saint Simon the Apostle (https://saintsimon.org)
