Arthur W. Clauson
Art Clauson was born in Indiana and passed away in Dallas, Texas on October 26, 2017 at the age of 85. He was married to his wife Janet MacDonald Clauson for 62 wonderful years. They have two children: David Clauson and Julie Nobles, six grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Art was an officer in the US Air Force. His career was with KPMG Peat Marwick and Mitchell where he worked in New York, Tulsa and Dallas. He was a Managing Partner in Tulsa and in Dallas served as the Deputy National Director of the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources Practice. His extensive experience in the domestic and international oil and gas industry made him sought after for accounting and auditing practices. He held CPA certifications in Indiana, Texas and New York.
After retirement Art worked 25 years as an AARP volunteer helping senior citizens prepare their tax returns and instructing AARP tax groups. He and his wife Janet also owned and operated Clauson’s Collectibles, an important source of Depression and Elegant Glass.
Art will be remembered as a wonderful husband, special father, a consummate professional and a fine friend. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
Family and friends may call from 10am until 11am, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, where funeral services will immediately follow at 11am on Saturday. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
