Arthur Gale Sloop

Arthur Gale Sloop, age 93 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Saturday morning, October 28, 2023.

Art was born on August 13, 1930, in Wabash, Indiana a son of Roland and Gertrude Sloop.  He was a long-time resident of the Oaklandon area of Indianapolis.

Art married Martha Moss on July 1, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He is survived by his wife Martha Sloop of Indianapolis.  

He is also survived by one son: Robert (wife Cyndi) Sloop of Onstead, Michigan.

Two grandsons: Joe and James.

Four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Art is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter: Desiree Floyd.

Art served his country and was a Sergeant in the United States Army.  He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.  He spent many years in the traffic & logistics management of various companies and retired from the Woods Wire as Director of Distribution.  He was a member of the Delta Nu Alpha transportation fraternity and served as its President for several years.  

Art loved fishing, wood crafting, playing poker and spending time with his family, friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center, located at 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.

His funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon.

He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
