Arlene G. Quiggins

November 27, 1933 — January 10, 2025

Indianapolis

“Arlene G. Quiggins, a loving matriarch whose warmth and nurturing spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, left us on January 10, 2025, in Indianapolis, surrounded by her family. Born on November 27, 1933, in West Virginia, Arlene’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering strength, independence, and love for family.

She was known for her delicious meals that brought people together, filling both their stomachs and hearts, and she filled her time with crafting, canning, gardening, and shopping. She had a gentle spirit that thrived in the beauty of creating things with her own hands, whether it was a gift or preserving the fruits of her labor from her garden.

Her strength and independence were an inspiration, encouraging her family to face life’s adversities with resilience and grace. She lived a life that exemplified love, embodying the nurturing role of a mother, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Quiggins, and her beloved son, Thomas Russell Hines. Among her proudest accomplishments was her wonderful family. Arlene is survived by her devoted son, Rick Hines, who carries forward her legacy of kindness and love. Her joy was magnified by the presence of her favorite grandchild, Mackenzie (Sam Bogdon), and her treasured great-grandchildren, Pierce and Parker Bogdon, who brought immense joy to her later years.

Arlene is also survived by many brothers and sisters in West Virginia and Florida, many of whom she cared for like a mother in her younger years.

As we remember Arlene, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, a life rooted in love, creativity, and family. Her light will continue to shine through the hearts of those she so dearly loved.”
