Archdeacon John Ray Beasley, a beloved figure in his community and a dedicated servant of the Church, passed away peacefully in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 7, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on December 21, 1933, in Linton, Indiana, he devoted his life to faith, family, and service, leaving a lasting legacy that will be cherished by those who knew him.
John was a loving husband to his wife, Margaret Beasley. Together, they nurtured a warm and welcoming household filled with love and guidance. He is survived by their children, Sharon Cook, Elizabeth (Eddie) Stone, Aaron (Kenda) Beasley, and Ben (Kami) Beasley, whose lives have all been enriched by his wisdom and support. John took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather, demonstrating a deep commitment to nurturing the next generations. His granddaughters, Sarah Beth Cook, Lilly Beasley, Thea Beasley, Allette Ruth Beasley, and Jaymee Beasley, along with his grandsons, Ryan Cook and Matthew Cook, will carry forward his spirit and values. He also leaves behind three great-grandsons, Sage, Montae, and De'Angelo.
As a distinguished Archdeacon, John's life was characterized by his steadfast dedication to his faith. He served the Anglican Church of The Resurrection with unparalleled devotion, often providing guidance and comfort to many in his community.
Family and friends are invited to honor Archdeacon John Ray Beasley’s life and contributions on February 15, 2025, at the Anglican Church of The Resurrection, located at 8350 Ditch Road, Indianapolis, IN. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. A military honors service will also take place at 3:00 PM at the Anglican Chapel Church of The Resurrection.
John's memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others made a profound impact, and his legacy will be felt for years to come.
