Annette L. Steele of Zionsville, Indiana, beloved mother of two, passed away on March 28, 2023, at the age of fifty-eight. Daughter of Judy Kornfeld (husband Alex) and William “Bull” Reichart, Annette was a cherished daughter, mother and friend. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1987, Annette was professionally known as a successful nurse, real estate agent and pharmaceutical sales rep. However, her true passion was her art.
While she was best known for her signature heart paintings, Annette’s creativity came in many forms, including home decor, sculptures and jewelry making. She never went long without a project and had many creative endeavors in mind. With a heart for rescue animals, Annette always had a faithful companion and adopted dogs most in need of a loving home. Her last dog, Remi, is still happy and healthy at age sixteen.
Annette was a vibrant, fun-loving, generous and dynamic woman who will always be remembered by the lives she touched. She was known for her unforgettable, gregarious laughter, lighthearted pranks and love of life. Above all else, she was a dedicated and loving mother to her two daughters, Emma Steele and Julia Steele (fiancé Bryce Hockman), who continue her legacy. A private celebration of life was held in her honor and was attended by her friends and family. In honor of her life, her daughters direct that contributions can be made to indyhumane.org or to your local animal shelter.
