She is also survived by her in-laws Eric and Debbie Cox, Jenny (Jeff) White, Jessica (Ben) Evilsizer, Justin (Mishell) Cox, Joanna (Fernando) Santillan, and Jordan Cox. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews Caleb and Mikayla White, Jace, Makenzie and Breelyn Evilsizer, Jae, Jet and Jag Cox, and Giovanni, Mariana and Liliana Santillan.
Anne was preceded in death by her grandparents Harold and Vennetta Templeton and Homer and Clarice Smoot.
Anne was a devoted daughter, adoring wife, nurturing stepmom, dependable sister, proud aunt, and loyal friend. She was with us for only 44 years and yet she lived a full life. Growing up in Carmel in a loving home with her family, Anne graduated from Carmel High School in 1995 and later earned a Master’s Degree from IUPUI in Library Science. Incidentally, her most formative years were spent in the same high school, residing about 5 miles from the future love of her life, her husband and fellow adventurer, Geoffrey Stephen Cox, whom she married on January 15, 2017.
Anne made a life for herself in the Indianapolis area going to work for her Alma Mater, IUPUI in the School of Social Work. When not working, she loved to play. Anne was eclectic in her interests. She loved traveling and all the opportunities her outdoor excursions afforded her: from the brisk air of an ocean breeze, the boundless energy of a hundred music festivals, to the beautiful, tranquil view of the world, floating high above in a hot air balloon.
Her deep love of music was life-long, stretching from bell and church choir, to marching band, to reaching the status of full, professional concertgoer. Nostalgic by nature, she loved giving sentimental gifts. An animal lover and bona fide dog whisperer, Anne adored her pets and is preceded by Gracie the poodle, Mia the turtle, and survived by Gwen Kitty. Enjoying life and all that it had to offer, she was a great lover of people, family vacations, souvenirs, amusement parks, board games, family gatherings, the Covered Bridge Festival and her stepson Caden’s music. She was also a dedicated collector of many things including concert and vacation t-shirts, glassware, music, good friends, and with her camera always in hand, awesome life experiences. Still, none can compare with her greatest adventure of all…life eternal in the presence of her Lord.
Jesus said to her, “I Am the resurrection and the life, the one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” John 11:25
We love you, Anne! We will see you again someday.
