Anna Marie Schlicher

Anna Marie Schlicher, 97, of Greenwood, IN passed away at Greenwood Meadows on August 9, 2019. She was born on October 5, 1921 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Ohio to the late Ora and Viola Sprouse Snyder. Accompanying her on that special day was her identical twin sister Freida May. During their school years and occasionally on dates they would trade places without being caught.

After graduating Springfield High School on June 15, 1939, Anna married the love of her life George K. Schlicher on October 31, 1942. She worked in the insurance field, nursing home and the toughest job of all as a homemaker raising four energetic sons. She loved cooking for family, especially the fried chicken and fixings on Sundays after church. Anna enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles with daily conversations with her sons or daughter in laws to make sure everyone got them right. Anna was the neighborhood watch dog in her Indianapolis community and even though a little tight with her money she never failed to make sure she fed the squirrels……..CASHEWS! She even got bitten once as she liked to hand feed them.

Anna is survived by her sons, Carlton (Barbara) Schlicher, Charles Schlicher, and Lynn (Marcia) Schlicher; daughter-in-law, Janice Schlicher; grandchildren, Jennifer Shelton, Michael Schlicher, Eric Schlicher, Lori Payton, Kevin Schlicher, and A.J. Schlicher; great-grandchildren, Madeline Shelton, Kodiak McBrayer, Skylar Schlicher, Lexie Byrd, Marina Payton, Zachary Schlicher, Dustin Schlicher, Vivian Schlicher, and Amelia Schlicher.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband, George K. Schlicher; Parents, Ora and Viola Snyder; twin sister Freida Miller; and son, Marvin Schlicher.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, from 12PM-2PM with a funeral service immediately following at 2PM.
