Anna Marie Markus

Anna Marie Markus, 80, of Fishers, IN, passed away on March 2, 2021. She was born to the late Steve Joseph Argyelan, Sr. and Anna Varga Argyelan on May 8, 1940, in Indianapolis, IN. Anna graduated from George Washington High School in 1957 and received her BA in Elementary Education from Butler University in 1961. Anna married the late Stephen Istvan Markus in 1961. They lived together in the Westchester neighborhood in Indianapolis until Stephen’s death in 1975. After her husband’s passing, Anna quickly learned and successfully managed the family’s commercial properties. Anna continued to live in Westchester raising her four children and later moved to Fishers, IN in 2003.

Anna is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Argyelan; her four children, Michael Stephen Markus, Julianna (Markus) Bielawski (Joe), Stephen Istvan Markus, and Anthony Joseph Markus (Jodie); her nine grandchildren Meaghan (Bielawski) Emery, Luke Bielawski, Alison Markus, Anna Bielawski, Olivia Markus, Stephen Brian Markus, Danielle Markus, Jack Markus, and Abbie Markus; her two great-grandchildren Joey Emery and Eleanor Emery. Anna was creative and enjoyed fine arts, cooking, knitting, painting/drawing, and music. She learned to play the piano as a young child. Anna’s biggest joy in life was her family. The love she had for her family and friends defined her life.

Visitation will be at Flanner Buchanan at Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Boulevard West Drive, 46228 on Monday, March the 8th from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.
