Anna M. Boyer

Anna M. Boyer of Indianapolis entered eternal rest on September 29, 2018 at the age of 78.

Anna was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 24, 1940 to the late Frank and Carmella Spitaleri.  After High School, she met the love of her life Robert on April Fool’s Day in 1960, and they married in September 1961. She dedicated her life as an Army wife and the relocations that came with it.  They lived in Rhode Island (where they started a family with Robert), South Carolina, Indiana, Turkey (where they added to their family with a daughter Debra), Hawaii and back to Indiana in November 1972 where they settled.  She loved volunteering for the Red Cross at Fort Benjamin Harrison where her husband was stationed. They enjoyed traveling both nationally and internationally.

Anna lost the love of her life suddenly in 1992 and knew it was time for her to support the family.  She worked for the Lawrence Township Schools (at what used to be Craig Middle School) as a Cashier in Food Services for almost 8 years.  She then dedicated her time helping care for her granddaughters whom she adored. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and her Friday night movie group. She will be remembered for her independence, her dedication to caring for others, but mostly for her resilience to make the most out of the many challenges life threw her way.

She is survived by her children Robert F. Boyer (Bente Klinge) and Debby May (Dwight); grandchildren Samantha May, Ashlynn May, Marcus Boyer, and Julia Boyer; brother John Spitaleri (Kathy); several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and her dog Snowflake.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert F. Boyer.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 12 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Saturday, October 13 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
