Anna Louise Whitehouse

Anna L. Whitehouse, 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones on September 18, 2019. She was born November 12, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William E. and Dorothy M. Kaiser; she was one of 4 children.

She attended St. Andrews Catholic School and graduated from Arlington High School in 1972. Anna was an excellent athlete; she loved volleyball, swimming, and was even a championship kicker and pitcher for a kickball league in her younger days. She was a wonderful artist, especially in freehand drawing. Anna loved Elvis, The Beatles, Kiss, and the Bee Gee’s. She worked for years in the insurance industry, was an office manager at Vandagriff Associates, but she was most proud of being a private detective. She crossed paths with the love of her life Virgil Vandagriff at work. The two went out for dinner and dancing on their first date and the rest is history. They spent 25 beautiful years together and remain deeply in love at the time of her passing. Anna was a strong woman, despite her struggles. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to meet her, peace can be found in knowing her health has been restored and she is reunited with her loved ones.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy; daughter, Jessica Whitehouse; siblings, Ed Kaiser, Donna Pursel. Surviving to cherish her memory are husband, Virgil; daughter, Amy Burke; brother, Paul Kaiser; brother in law, Jim Pursel; lifetime best friend, Lisa Cave; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

All are welcome to visit Friday, September 27 from 4-8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Funeral services will take place Saturday, September 28 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Anna will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following services.
