Ann P. Guion
93, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 9, 2017 after a long illness. She was born in New York City in 1924 to immigrant parents, and educated in public school in Queens. She had excellent English skills, and worked as a legal secretary on Wall Street prior to her marriage in 1945 to John A. Guion of Indianapolis. They met through the USO during WW II where Ann was a volunteer. She and John used to meet on the church grounds of Trinity Church near her workplace. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years. They had two children, Doug Guion of Colorado, and Carol Elson of Indianapolis, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Ann was known for her steadfastness, sense of humor, and keen shopping instinct. During her lifetime, Ann probably wrote as many longhand personal letters as almost any other human being of her era. She was an active member of East 91st Street Christian Church for over 65 years.
Calling will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 from noon to 2 p.m. with a service at 2 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple located at 1305 E. Broad Ripple Avenue, Indianapolis 46220.
