Ann Austin Laurent

Ann Austin Laurent, 93, Indianapolis, passed away November 21, 2018. She was born in Bloomington, IL to Miner Manley and Helen Strickle Austin. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, where she met her husband of 58 years, Doug Laurent. Ann was a homemaker, caring for her family of three children and enjoyed gardening, being a Scout leader, traveling, sewing, and doing crafts. Ann was a member of the DAR and Phi Beta Psi service sorority. Survivors include her children: Mark (Jan) Laurent, Jean McFarren, Jim (Tammy), seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Bette Stiehl. She was preceded in death by her husband Doug, her brother Jeff Austin, and son-in-law Mike McFarren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 435 Limestone St, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1-1:45pm at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Ave. Funeral services will begin there at 1:45pm.
