Anita M Downton

Anita Marie Downton was born on September 30, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dolores A. (Wagner) and Clarence E. Downton. Anita passed away on January 22, 2022 and was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Donna Hughes and Carol Downton. She is survived by the following siblings: Denis Downton, Galen (Andrea) Downton, Maria Downton (Greg Robertson), Lucia Downton (Bettyann Rowe), and Marta (Bruce) Myers. She is also survived by her nieces, Julie Hughes and Jennifer Myers, and her nephews, Gary Hughes and Andrew Myers.
Anita attended St. Mary’s Academy in Indianapolis and graduated from Sacred Heart in Memphis, TN. She served as a Mid-South Fair princess in the late 1960s in Memphis, TN. She received her Master’s degree in Library Sciences from Indiana University in Indianapolis. She led an active professional career in Memphis, TN and Indianapolis, IN.
