Angela Mae Johnson
July 15, 1945 – July 10, 2022
Angela Mae Johnson “Angie”, 76, of Fishers went back to God peacefully at home on July 10, 2022.
Angie was born July 15, 1945 in LaPorte Indiana to the late Lloyd and Ivy (Miller) O’Dell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ron Johnson; her children and their spouses: Sheila Brewer, Karen & Eric Toth, Mike & Marybeth Johnson, Tony & Pam Johnson, Michele & Tony Scelza, and Tim Johnson. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren and their spouses: Samantha Toth, Zachary Toth, Kassie & Brian Hull, Kacey Johnson, Adam & Ashley Johnson, Jonathon Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Levi Johnson, Luke Johnson, Nathan & Tori Johnson, Remington Johnson, Jennifer Lafreniere, Rebecca Scelza, Danielle Scelza, and AJ Scelza and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings and their spouses: Linda and Harold Young, Larry and Nancy O’Dell, and Phyllis and Jim Marks. Angie was also blessed with many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were like family. Her parents and sister, Pauline O’Dell, preceded her in death.
Angie was a long time employee of Eli Lilly and retired in 1998. She was a member of iTown church and the Independent Order of Foresters.
Angie enjoyed time spent with family – especially her grandchildren and her adventures with friends. She was an avid jigsaw puzzle worker, enjoyed other types of puzzles, playing cards, quilting, bowling, visiting antique shops, family time at the pool, and trips to Vanderbilt Beach, FL. She had a laugh that others immediately recognized (which her daughters have inherited) and a hug that fully embraced you.
She was looking forward to the upcoming weddings of her grandchildren Samantha to James Rupp, Levi to Alison Porter and Luke to Madison Cook and the addition of a great grandson who will be born to Nathan and Tori Johnson.
Most of all she was a devoted and loving wife to Ron for 47 years. The two were largely inseparable and enjoyed many adventures, weathered life’s storms together, and remained each other’s best friend. She will be missed more than words can express.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 15 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11-12 and the service immediately following at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Angie’s name to The Cooper House or the charity of ones’ choice.
