Angela M. Connelly (n. Bell)

June 7, 1954 — January 15, 2025

Portland, OR

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Marie Connelly (n. Bell), age 70, on January 15, 2025, in Portland, OR. She died from complications of multiple myeloma.

Angela was born in Indianapolis, IN on June 7, 1954 to John Lewis and Rose Ann Bell. She attended Indiana University, and graduated in 1977 with a degree in Medical Records Administration. She worked in hospital administration at hospitals in Rochester, NY, Washington, DC, Indianapolis and Kokomo, IN, and Cincinnati, OH. In midlife, she transitioned to a career in project management for Procter and Gamble.

Angela cared deeply for her family. She was the middle sister of five girls. Throughout her life, she made sure to stay very close to her sisters, and her nieces, nephews, and their growing families. She is survived by her son, Christopher Connelly, and daughter-in-law, Courtney Nall, as well as her 4 sisters, Chris Sheehan, Susan Haas, Annie Hylton, and Julie McGuire. Her greatest loves were her two granddaughters, Evelyn and Frances. She moved to Portland to be near her son and granddaughters in 2021. She spent as much time with her granddaughters as she could - swimming, riding bikes, and going on family trips throughout the Northwest. She loved to share stories about Christopher, Courtney, and her granddaughters with her sisters and their families.

Angela was a tough, pragmatic, and independent person. She built a wonderful life for herself and her family through hard work and determination. She was also very funny and outgoing. She loved yoga classes, getting to know her neighbors and being part of a community. But what she enjoyed most, was working in her garden or decorating her home. She could always make any space feel warm and inviting.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Rose Ann.

Angela, a wonderful sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother will forever be in our hearts. We miss her dearly.

A service will be held at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Chapel in Indianapolis, IN at 11am on March 29, 2025. A luncheon will follow at the home of Chris Sheehan from 1-3pm.
