Angela “Ann” M. Karnezis (Yager), 90, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2022.
She was born December 31, 1931, in Baltimore, Maryland, to George and Mary Karnezis. Ann (Annie) earned an accounting degree from Chicago University and worked for Chevrolet for 40 years in Michigan.
She was married to Ralph Yager for 45 years, who preceded her in death. They resided in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Upon her retirement, she relocated to Avon, Indiana, where she lived two doors down from her only sister, Cynthia Gorogiani, who passed away in 2001. Ann also had a brother, Peter Karnezis, who preceded her in death.
Ann was a Christian and a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
She was an avid reader her entire life. Annie read magazines, was in book clubs, and made weekly trips to the local library as she got older.
Ann’s favorite sport was golf. She loved playing on the course or watching it on TV. She had a wonderful group of lady friends who shared the same passion and she treasured those times together. She also loved to play games… bridge, euchre, dominos and scrabble were among her favorite.
Ann shared a deep love for animals, in particular dogs. There was seldom a time in her life she was without a dog, her faithful friend.
Survivors include nephew, Andrew G. Gorogiani and his wife, Nadine, nephew, Gregory P. Gorogiani, niece, Angela (Gigi) McClellan and great nieces; Leah Heston (husband Dan Heston), Adria McClellan and Katie McClellan and great-great niece, Zoe Heston
Graveside Service will be held Monday May 16, 2022 at 10:00am at Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208.
