Amy Catherine (Meyer) Schomacker
was born July 16, 1976, and passed away December 2, 2017. She attended Saint Lawrence Catholic School, and graduated from Bishop Chatard High School and Butler University. Amy’s legacy is one of selflessness, always looking for ways to help others live fuller lives: teacher at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic School; technology trainer in Pike Township; fundraiser, planner, and educator for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; volunteer at Northeast Cooperative Preschool and Saint Simon the Apostle School; eldest sister, devoted daughter, wife, mother, aunt, godmother, and dear friend; and ultimately an organ donor. Her caring and joyful spirit continues to spread light through all the lives she touched.
Amy is survived by her husband Geoff, her daughters Olive and Hazel, her parents Michael and Arlyn (Hanle) Meyer, her sisters Lisa (Meyer) Gunyon and Sarah (Meyer) Overpeck, her niece and goddaughter Piper Gunyon, and many relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at Saint Simon the Apostle Church, 8155 Oaklandon Road, Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a fund benefitting Amy’s husband and daughters for education and living expenses. Please visit https://www.youcaring.com/geoffoliveandhazelschomacker-1034848.
