Ambrose Kilburn

Ambrose Kilburn, 91, of Indianapolis passed away on January 2, 2022. He was born on September 23, 1930 in Jackson, KY to the late Ambrose Sr. and Candis Kilburn. Ambrose spent most of his childhood in Kentucky. He started working at the age of 14. His amazing work ethic followed him to Indiana, where he was a jack of all trades for the maintenance department of Warren Township School District. He retired from the school district in 1997. Ambrose enjoyed his ATV’s and four wheelers even in recent years. He could never sit idle—he found peace and enjoyment by staying busy even after his retirement. Ambrose will be missed sorely by all the lives he has touched.

He is survived by his daughter, Mildred Dearmin; grandson, Mike Rupe; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Devan Rupe; and great-great granddaughter, Harley Rupe.

Ambrose is preceded in death by his parents; all 4 of his siblings; wife, Elsie Kilburn; and son, Ronald Kilburn.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. A funeral service will immediately begin at 1PM. Ambrose will be laid to rest next to his wife in Washington Park East Cemetery
