Amaryllis Ann Hardebeck 89 passed away July 30, 2022 in Indianapolis at Franciscan Hospice House. The oldest of 6 children, Amaryllis (Amy) was born on September 2, 1932 in Kokomo to Glen and Charlotte Thatcher Rogers. Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Gaynard; 2 sons, Gregory, and Charles; daughter-in-law, Tammy; great-grandson, Anthony DiRienzo; sister Glenda Boton; and sister and brother-in-law, Sonja and Lowell Baber. Amy is survived by her children Cheryl (David) Craig, Maureen (Dennis) Sanner, Steve (Lori) Hardebeck, Mary (Jerry) Burk, John Hardebeck, Eric (Andrea) Hardebeck, Suzanne (Kevin) Riley, David (Pam) Hardebeck, Valerie (Steve) Goodwin, 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Pat (Gary) Eckley, Maritta Purcell; one brother, Paul (Pearl) Rogers; and brother-in-law, Joseph Boton. She graduated in 1951 from Saint Joseph Academy in Tipton. On October 11, 1952, she married Gaynard John Hardebeck. He died October 3, 2012. Amy worked as a secretary for Kenwood Elementary and Hammond High Schools before moving to Indianapolis in 1975. She retired from CVS (Hook-SuperX) in 1997 after 22 years as a secretary. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Church for 30 years and a member of Nativity Church since 2008. Amy enjoyed genealogy and was a Daughter of the American Revolution. She loved big family gatherings for holidays and birthdays where she displayed her talents for decorating cakes or baking delicious homemade pies. Amy was a talented painter. She was a certified instructor for Bob Ross and Donna Dewberry. She developed fine skills in other hobbies such as sewing, quilting, needlework, knitting, and crafting in general. A visitation will be help at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229 on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm. Services will be held at Nativity Catholic Church on Thursday, August 4, 2022, with a small visitation from 12pm to 1pm and mass starting at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the Franciscan Hospice House or to St. Vincent de Paul.
