Amal Sami Khazal, 71, of Carmel, passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 22, 1946 in Jerusalem to Sami and Almaza Mustaklem. Amal obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Jerusalem where she went on to teach mathematics.
Amal was an avid knitter and a fantastic cook. She used her love of cooking to feed her fellow church members and her family. When Amal wasn’t spending time with her family, she loved to garden.
She is survived by her four children, Najwa, Rula, George, and Maisa; eight grandchildren; two sisters; four brothers; many nieces and nephews; and her two beloved canine companions. Amal was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Emile; and sister, Maha.
Visitation will be from 5:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, with a Trisagion Service to be held at 8:30p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana 46032. Additional visitation will be from 10:00a.m. until 12:30p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. George Orthodox Christian Church, 10748 East 116th Street, Fishers, Indiana 46037. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorials Gardens followed by a Memorial Luncheon at 3:30p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel.
