Allen Wayne Cooke

Allen Wayne Cooke of Indianapolis passed away October 28, 2021 at the age of 79.

He was born July 12, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Marion Lee and Martha Ann (Wolfe) Cooke.

Although he was born in Indianapolis, Allen was raised in Fresno, California.  After High School he attended Fresno State University with the dream of becoming a history teacher.  However, he was called to serve in the Navy during Vietnam, and he served his country with pride. He was a proud American.

He worked as a Maintenance Manager for Burlington Coat Factory for over 20 years, and then went on to work in the Warehouse at Exel for over 10 years.

He enjoyed Elvis music, animals, and was a huge Indianapolis Colts fan.

Allen is survived by his wife Vicky Sue Cooke and sister Marilyn Moreland (George).

He was preceded in death by his parents Marion and Martha Cooke and his brother Robert Lee Cooke.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 2 from 1-2 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.  Funeral Services will begin at 2 PM.  He will be laid to rest with military honors at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
