Alicia Joann Eck

Alicia “Joann” Eck passed away peacefully on September 17, 2018, at Harbour Manor Health & Living Community in Noblesville after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Mrs. Eck grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating from Broad Ripple High School in 1947 and Indiana University School of Business in 1951. Joann and her husband of 53 years, Bruce Eck, were longtime residents of Zionsville, Indiana before moving to Noblesville in 2000.

Joann was a member and past president of Sigma Kappa Sorority at IU, as well as member of IU Alumni Association, Psi Iota Si and Indiana Paperweight Association. An avid paperweight collector and past president, Joann also loved to vacation at their winter home in Ft. Myers, Florida. Joann was a longtime member of Noblesville Christian Church and various bridge clubs in Zionsville and Noblesville.

Mrs. Eck was a Certified Professional Accountant, working for both private and local companies. Joann served as Food Service Director at Eagle Union School Corporation for 15 years before retiring in 1978.

Joann is survived by her son, Matthew W. Eck (Cindy) of Noblesville; granddaughters, Jennifer Dulin (Tim) of Noblesville, and Kathryn Eck of Chicago, Illinois; and great-grandchildren, Jack Dulin and Alissa Dulin.

Joann is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce D. Eck; son, Clinton E. Eck; and parents, Clifford and Opal Barnard.

Calling will be at Flanner Buchanan-Zionsville, 105 W. Pine St., on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 4-7pm and Tuesday, September 25 from 10-11am with funeral service immediately following. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
