Alice L. Wade

Alice L. Wade, 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on March 12, 2025. She was born on September 22, 1929, to Paul and Fern Johnson. She graduated from Shortridge High School in 1947. She retired from The A & P Tea Company.

Alice enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed playing the piano at church and at home and spent time doing genealogy.

Alice is survived by three sons: Kenneth Michael (Martha) Wade, Timothy Joseph (Margot) Wade, and Thomas James Wade; daughter-in-law, Cindy Wade; sister, Edna Watkins; brothers: David Johnson and Rodney Johnson; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard C. Wade, her son, Donald Paul Wade, five brothers, and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4pm – 8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. Additional visitation will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10am – 11am, with a funeral service at 11am. Alice will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
