Alethea “Lee” Joy Wilson, 89, Carmel, went home to be with her Lord November 14, 2021. She was born in Evergreen Park, IL to Carl Axel and Lora Mae (Speicher) Stohl. Alethea had an older sister, Sylvia, and brother, Samuel. Their family of 5 resided near Chicago through the years. When Lee went to North Central College in Illinois, she met Robert “Bob” A. Wilson. After college, they married August 3, 1957, and moved to Indianapolis. They had one daughter, Nancy. They built their house in which they lived their whole married life of 63 years. Through the years, Lee’s greatest joy was being a wife and mother. She truly enjoyed being a homemaker, entertaining, sewing, decorating, and cooking. They were very involved in their church, Colonial Hills Baptist, and made many good friends there. Bob and Lee also enjoyed yearly vacations to Colorado and Florida.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Marc) West, nephew David (Denise) Shantz, and nieces Sherrie (Ben) Elmore-Shantz, and Connie Tsagarakis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 8140 Union Chapel Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday at Colonial Hills Baptist Church from 1:00-1:45pm. A memorial service will begin there at 2:00pm. A graveside service will be at Union Chapel Cemetery, 8301 Union Chapel Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46240, at 3:00pm.
