Albin M. Burkacki, a cherished son, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 86 in Indianapolis, IN. Born on November 2, 1938, in Detroit, MI, Albin was a beacon of warmth and humor throughout his life, endearing himself to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Albin's career spanned over 25 years as a draftsman at General Motors, culminating in retirement in 2001. His keen eye for detail and dedication to his work were testament to his professional legacy, but it was his vibrant spirit and infectious smile that left the most lasting impact on those around him. A proud graduate of Washington Trade School for drafting in Detroit in 1955, he often shared tales from his early days, filled with ambition and dreams.

Before embarking on this rewarding career, Albin donned the uniform of the United States Navy as a signalman, serving with pride until his discharge in 1951. This experience not only instilled in him a sense of duty and discipline but also shaped his appreciation for the bonds of camaraderie that would follow him throughout his life.

In 2012, Albin and his beloved wife, Geraldine (Jeri) Kaminski, made a significant transition, relocating to Indianapolis to be closer to their five treasured grandchildren. Together for over 54 years, their love represented a steadfast commitment, filled with joy, laughter, and countless memories. 

Albin's wit was a gift he generously shared, making those around him feel uplifted. He had an extraordinary ability to smile at everyone, and it was this warmth that drew people to him. His passions included traveling and boating, adventures that allowed him to explore the beauty of life and create unforgettable moments.

He is survived by his children, Michael and MariaLynn (Mia), who carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. Albin is remembered with great affection by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

Preceding him in death were his father, Edward C.,(d.1987),and mother, Albina W. Morawski (d. 2011), whose love and guidance undoubtedly shaped the man he became. The heart of Albin will forever be intertwined with the memory of his beloved wife, Jeri, who journeyed alongside him through every ebb and flow of life. Albin took great care of his beloved wife, Jeri, until her passing in 2016.
