Alan Keith Blackledge, 64, passed away on June 7, 2023. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1977. Alan served in the Indiana National Guard full time from 1977 to 2004 and continued serving as a civilian employee with the Guard from 2004 to present. He served his community as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in Putnam County for many years.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Tiffany Ibanez, his sister Dena (Dale) Ferguson and his father George Blackledge. He is survived by his mother June Jones Blackledge; his wife Laura Blackledge; his children Michael Blackledge, Daniel (Ashley) Blackledge and Danelle (Coby) Walters; and sister Denise (James) Wilson; grandchildren Brooke (Grant) Eisenhut, Braden Kassis, Donovan and Quentin Ibanez, Nate and Katie Trissel; great-grandchild Atlas Keith Eisenhut; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway followed by funeral service at 1 p.m. Full Military Honors will take place following the funeral at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
A stoic man with a unique sense of humor that those who knew him loved, he was a pillar of quiet strength for his entire family and those who knew him. His words were few, but when they were spoken, you knew the importance of the moment …
