Agnes -Yive- Byrd

Agnes “Yive” Byrd, 93, of Avon, passed away June 13, 2017, at 1:00 a.m.

Agnes was born October 12, 1923, the daughter of Cornelious and Minnie (Richardson) Estes. She married the love of her life Howard Edgar Byrd on October 17,1946. He survives.

A devoted wife of 70 years, Agnes or “Yive” as she was loving called her younger siblings will be missed greatly. As the older sibling Yive often took on the role as mother. She was a lady that always stayed busy with crocheting. Yive was gifted in this area and it was often said that you could just simply turn around and Yive would have crafted a beautiful blanket in no time at all. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear sister, Yive leaves a great legacy to her family.

Services for Agnes will be held at noon Saturday, June 17, 2017. Calling will be from 10:00 until time of service at the Flanner Buchanan Speedway located at 2950 N High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224. Burial will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Rock Christian Church located at 2020 N Girls School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46214.

Survivors include Her husband, Howard; a son, Ronald Marcum Byrd, of St. Charles, Missouri; a daughter, Judy (Rick) Engle of San Jose, California; sisters, Gladys Maple, Joyce Samples, Eula Champion and Sue Bass; brothers, Douglas Estes and Charles Estes; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Louverta Estes and a brother, Joe Estes.
