William Charles O-Connor

William Charles O’Connor, age 89, of Bowling Green, KY,Nashville, TN and Indianapolis, IN passed away on August 7, 2016, spending hislast days with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren andsurrounded by prayer. His parents JohnStephen O’Connor and Mary Margaret Schneider O’Connor, and his brothers JohnJoseph O’Connor and Fr. Thomas O’Connor, OSB pre-deceased him.

Bill was a model of humility, service, selflessness andfaithfulness. He was a founding memberof St. Henry Church in Nashville, TN and was a daily communicant for many years. He was also faithful to his Cursillo groupfor decades. He shared his love of theoutdoors and water with his children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews,especially through sailing and whitewater canoeing. He also enjoyed tennis and golf. He volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital andSt. Vincent de Paul Society, was on the board of the Marquette Foundation andparticipated in other religious, fraternal and professional organizations.

Bill’s career was as vice president and secretary ofGenesco, Inc. in Nashville, TN. Heretired in 1993 after 32 years. Hispriority was always his family. He issurvived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Margaret, his three children, Marianne(Frank) Price of Indianapolis, Margaret O’Connor of Indianapolis and Thomas(Terri) O’Connor of Roswell, GA, his six grandchildren: Patrick (Sara Spalding)Price of Indianapolis, Mark (Vanessa) Price of Denver, CO, Diane Price of India,David Price of Indianapolis, Aeryn O’Connor of Colorado, and Brennan O’Connorof Roswell, GA, 6 great grandchildren in Indianapolis and Denver and hisbrother-in-law Monsignor Owen Campion of Fort Wayne.

The memorial Mass will be held in the chapel at Marquette (8140Township Line Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46260) on Saturday, August 13 at 10AM, followed by visitation withfamily. There will be a private burialat Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.

We are very grateful for the love and prayers surroundingthe family at this time and are especially grateful to St. Vincent Hospice andMarquette’s Health Care Center for the extraordinary care provided to Bill andto his family.
