William "Bill" Remmert

William “Bill” Remmert, 64, passed away March 9^th, 2021. He was born April 15^th, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana to parents William and Barbara Joan (Hendrix) Remmert.

Bill worked as a mechanic for many years at Tires Plus and Firestone. He was self-employed as a courier for some time before he retired.

Bill was a loving, social man, who adored his family and his community. He was considered “Uncle Bill” to the city of Lawrence.  He loved to gamble and enjoyed several trips to Vegas. Above all he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his daughters Shannon and Danielle Remmert; granddaughters Alyssa M. Backus and Hayleigh Backus; nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews:  Niece Christina (Michael) Gilpatrick, their son Michael Jr.; Nephew William Michael (Stephanie) Hylton, children Michaela Hylton, Isaiah Weaver, Clarrissa Hylton, Isaac Weaver, and Gabby Hylton; Niece Kathy (Scott) Rivers, children Brooke Bryan, Jayden Rivers, Alexus Rivers, and Scott Rivers; Niece Laurie Maxwell, her daughter Kristianna Maxwell, and her children Dominic and Logan; and Nephew Jarrett Ervin; and the entire city of Lawrence.

Besides his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his sister Debra Marlene Hylton.

Visitation for Bill will be Tuesday, March 16^th, 2021, 11am- 1pm, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. His Funeral Mass will begin at 1pm. Bill will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
