In Loving Memory of Wade H. Buckwalter Wade H. Buckwalter, 64 of Indianapolis, passed away November 13th, 2017. Wade was born August 26th, 1953 to the late Howard and Gladys Buckwalter. Wade graduated from Pike High School in 1971. He then attended North Eastern Oklahoma A&M College, where he played football and baseball. Wade went on and graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and the Drill Sergeant Academy at Fort Knox, KY. Wade served as Whitestown Marshall and was later hired onto the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, where he was a part of the first ever K-9 unit with his two four legged partners Spike and Shadow. Wade also attended the Airborne Ranger School at Ft. Benning, GA. Wade retired from active service in the United States Army in 1998, after serving his country for 26 years. Wade was multitalented, from playing semi pro baseball and football to setting power lifting records. Wade also coached the Circle City Crush girls’ softball team, as well as, the Lawrence Central High School and Speedway High School girls’ softball teams. Wade was an avid firearm collector and he was also an avid Harley Davidson rider. Wade was a member of the NRA and Masonic Lodge for many years. Wade was also a member of the Indianapolis Chapter, IOMC (Iron Order Motorcycle Club). He was the Road Captain of Indy Iron, where all his brothers in the club knew him as “Mile Marker.” Wade was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Buckwalter; his grandparents, Howard and Elizabeth Buckwalter, Mark and Gladys Cowden; and his parents, Howard and Gladys Buckwalter. He is survived by four children, Jennifer (Jimmy) Bowman, Mark Buckwalter, Mandy (Jon) Koers, Kaitlyn (Chuck) Thorpe; 11 grandchildren; sister, Norma Duckett; and his brothers, Brian, John, Bruce, and Chris Buckwalter. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan - Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road., from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan - Speedway at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
