Thomas John Perun, Jr.

Thomas “Tom” John Perun, Jr passed away May 28, 2021 at the age of 56.

He was born July 15, 1964 in Waukegan, IL to Thomas John Perun, Sr. and Virginia Lane.

Tom was a loving companion and partner to wife Julie for 36 years; doting father to Sarah Georgina, Jack Wilson Thomas, and Kathleen Elizabeth; loving son to Virginia Lane of South Pasadena, FL and Thomas (Catherine) John Perun, Sr. of Hempstead, TX; siblings Cynda (Don) Soldatis and Andrew Perun; mother-in-law Georgia Wilson; sisters-in-law Angela (Mark) Collins and Traci (James) Cromwell; as well as many faithful friends and wonderful colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Leonard Wilson.

He played hockey, golf, several varieties of poker, euchre, bowling, and loved watching sports.

He also enjoyed movie theater popcorn, heated blankets, warm slippers, and reading the newspaper. Rush was his favorite band, he had excellent taste in music, and loved to listen (sometimes very loudly) to his collection of vinyl through his impressive stereo setup. He owned a Chevy Camaro that was just shy of his dream car – a 1970 Chevelle SS.

He was the number one cheerleader at sports games for his kids.

Tom was an inspiration to so many and a personal hero to his kids. He fought so hard, for so long, worked until the day he couldn’t, never complained, and fought until he couldn’t. He defied the odds and fortunately received the gift of life twice, which afforded him to live an extraordinary and full life. Graveside Services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, June 2 in Memorial Park Cemetery, 9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.
