Theodore "Pat" Hayes

Theodore “Pat” Hayes, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away June 11^th, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis, June 29^th, 1947, to parents Chester Hayes and The Late Ruth (Wiggam) Carr.

Pat proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corps. and was awarded several medals for his outstanding service.

On October 11^th, 1966, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Pat married the love of his life, Susan Bunce. They shared 55 wonderful years of marriage.

In 1979, Pat joined the Masonic Lodge, after serving as a “Rainbow Pop” for the The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. He then became a long-time member of the Sugar Creek Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of Scottish Rite and Eastern Star.

He worked at EH Hamilton Trucking as a warehouse foreman for over 43 years- a job he excelled at and enjoyed.

Pat was an active, hardworking gentleman.  In his younger years, he loved to race BMX bikes and go hunting. He was a member of a bowling league for several years. Pat loved being outdoors, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed shopping and would frequent the local flea markets and garage sales. Above all, Pat adored his family and loved spending time with them.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Pat is survived by his wife, Susan; his father Chester; his children Wendy Gough and Tim (Jill) Hayes; grandchildren Hope (Tony), Andrew (Nicki), Savannah, Madison, Reagan, and Luke; great-grandchildren Patrick and Theodore; siblings Teddy, Patricia, and Mischelle; ex-son-in-law Jeff Gough; his best friend Harold Huston; and his dog Brooklyn and cat Shadow.

Pat is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, and his siblings George, Tammy, and Alicia.
