Sylvia M. Jones

Mrs. Sylvia M. Jones, “Syl”, was born on February 28, 1938, to Mildred and Robert Smith in Indianapolis, IN, where she attended Crispus Attucks High School.

Sylvia was united in Holy Matrimony to John T. Jones Sr. and the two were blessed with four children.

A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother who loved spending time with her family.  Always willing to share a hug, a smile or a seat at the table for dinner and her famous sweet tea.  Sylvia was known for her love of card games, puzzles, bingo, fishing, bowling, and her infectious laughter.  Never one to sit out on a dance, her love of music was unwavering throughout her life.

Mrs. Sylvia M. Jones gained her wings on October 8, 2022, at the age of 84.  Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, John Sr.; brothers, Robert & Larry Smith; and grandson, Ryan Thompson.

She will forever be cherished by her children, John T. Jones, Jr. (Carol), Karen Barnes (William), Kim Patterson (John), and Eric Jones; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; siblings, Sharon Peck, Gary Smith, Steve Smith, Ricky Smith, Michael Smith; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
