Suzanne Denise Parker

Suzanne Denise Parker of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on December 4, 2021 at the age of 70.

She was born December 26, 1950 in Indianapolis to the late Rollin and Loutisha Curry. Susi was happily married for 44 years to her late husband Jack Parker.

She is survived by her children James Parker (Marcy), Michelle Reynolds (Rob), Angela Parker and Josie Parker; her granddaughters Mackenzie, Madison, Catherine, Hannah, and Emily; great-granddaughters Charli and Isabella.  She is also survived by her siblings Dyann Gearlds, Stephen Curry, Mike Curry (Irene) and loving brother-in-law Rex Parker.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Charlene Robbins, Barbara Forbes, Timothy Curry; and sister-in-law Maryjane Shackleford.

Susi graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1969.  She worked at Anthem Insurance starting out as a file clerk in 1971 and retiring as a Director of Training in 2008.  Following her retirement, she worked another 10 years at the Marion County Juvenile Court in the IT department.

Susi was very involved in raising money for many different organizations.  She was instrumental in developing Indiana’s breast cancer license plate for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  She also became an avid supporter of the Epilepsy Foundation when her twin granddaughters were diagnosed with epilepsy.

Susi’s interests included making jewelry, listening to music, anything haunted, reading and traveling with friends and family. Her family was everything to her and the most recent family addition, Charli was the light of the world to her.

Susi was a people person who loved and accepted everyone. She made no judgments about others and was always forgiving.  When you think of Susi remember her for her love, humor and generosity.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, December 18 from 1 to 3 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.  A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers you may honor Susi by making a donation to the Epilepsy Foundation of Indiana or Parents of Addicted Loved Ones.
