Susan Thompson passed peacefully on the morning of March 2nd surrounded by her loving family after a 12-month battle with cancer.
Susan (Carter) Thompson was born July 6, 1947, to Earl and Josephine Carter. She was raised in Knightstown, Indiana. Her family enjoyed their summers at Lake Tippecanoe at their families lake cottage.
While attending Butler University she was a 500 princess and a member of Kappa Kappa Gama Sorority. She received an undergraduate degree in education. After that she taught in Cape Canaveral Florida before moving back to Indiana to purse her Masters Degree from Butler. She taught at Crestview Elementary in Lawrence Township Schools for 7 years.
She married Thomas Thompson III on February 19, 1972. They had two children Jennifer and Vince. Susan was an avid reader and loved spending time at the beach. Family was always the most important thing in her life. Susan loved supporting her children and grandchildren at all of their sporting events and other special events.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents Earl & Jo Carter and brother Barry Carter. She will be missed by many, but most of all her husband of 51 years, Tom; children, Jennifer, Vince (Angela); 6 grandchildren, Hayley, Cole & Jake, Kaitlyn, Payton & Brayden; brother, Dennis (Barb) Carter, sister-in-law, Barbie Carter and nieces and nephews.
