Sergeant First Class, Steven A. Davis
73, of Indianapolis, passed away June 15, 2020. He was born in March 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana as the son of Charles and Marjorie Davis.
Steve proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army National Guard Reserves for 25 years. He was an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout troop leader, member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Knights of Columbus, The American Legion, and served on the American Legion Honor Guard for 15 years, honoring fellow veterans who went before him. Steve enjoyed cooking, music, staying up on current events, fixing anything needing improvement, bird watching, and being involved at his church. He found joy in making others laugh and feel special on holidays and birthdays. A doting grandfather, loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and a loyal friend.
Steven is survived by his wife, Mary Davis; daughter, Bridget Davis; grandchildren Victoria, Kaden and Connor; and sister Dorothy Moritz.
He was preceded in death by his son, Frederic Davis and parents Charles and Marjorie Davis.
Friends and family are invited to join a memorial gathering at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E Washington St. on Thursday, June 25 2020, from 12pm-2pm. Memorial services to follow immediately at 2pm.
We ask that all in attendance wear a mask or adhere to safe social distancing practices as many in attendance are considered at risk.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association of Indiana or HVAF of Indiana, Inc., an organization dedicated to solving the homeless veteran crisis.
