Stephen Michael Gahn was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, September 13, 2022. Steve was born on June 14, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Vandalia Butler High School. Steve then attended Ohio University where he obtained a BS in Education and MS in Education Administration. Steve’s entire career was spent serving the community through education, with multiple administration roles within Amanda-Clearcreek and Bloom-Carroll school districts. He also was a supervisor for the Fairfield County Education Service Center. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed gardening, traveling on cruises and especially liked spending time with his family. Steve had previously been a member of the Amanda Lions club, Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis, and was a trustee for Ohio University – Lancaster. He was a board member of New Horizons Mental Health Services for 20 years. Steve is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet; his children S. Michael (Amanda) and Rachel (Shaun) Brewin; grandchildren Lukas, Niklaus, Jordan, Ellie, Isaac, and Alice; brother Adam Gahn; nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Addie. He was preceded in death by his father Adam, mother Esther, and brother Terry. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 24th, 2022, at Flanner Buchanan – Zionsville, starting at 1:00 followed by services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
