After a hard-fought 15-month battle with clear cell sarcoma, Stephanie Pottenger (33) passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2020. She was surrounded by loved ones as she entered heaven. Her testimony is in her joy, strength, courage, and faith in Jesus Christ.
Stephanie Ann Pottenger was born July 9, 1987 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Terry Allan Pottenger (deceased) and Susan Elizabeth (Marshall) Pottenger. She graduated from Speedway High School in 2006. In 2010, she graduated from the IUPUI School of Engineering & Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. She worked as assistant to the architect at IUPUI from 2010 to 2013. Stephanie then followed her personal calling to return to school and become a Registered Nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University School of Nursing in December 2013. Stephanie worked at the Heart Center at Riley Hospital for Children from 2012 until June 2019, when she went on medical leave.
Stephanie became a Certified Pediatric Nurse in 2018 and was also an assistant professor with the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She had been accepted into the nurse practitioner program at IUPUI at the time of her diagnosis.
Stephanie was an animal lover, world traveler, athlete, artist, and fashion model on the Fox 59 morning show. She was an enthusiastic Indianapolis 500 fan and attendee, lifetime member of 7th & 8th United Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), took singing lessons and loved karaoke. She also ran 5 mini-marathons and 1 triathlon. She had many friends and loved to live life to the fullest.

Stephanie is survived by her mother, Susan McCracken; her loving partner, Carter Allington; her brothers Andrew (Melissa) and Christopher Glenday; her sisters Amy (David Braitman), Megan (Bryan Giusto), and Hailey McCracken; grandmothers Betty Marshall and Nancy Pottenger; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Terry Pottenger; and grandfathers William Marshall and Lloyd Pottenger.
