Stephanie Nicole Sachs, 36, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. She was born on April 19, 1986 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Mark and Andrea (Nelson) Sachs.
After living in Texas as a child, Stephanie moved back to Indianapolis with her family and graduated from Lawrence North High School in 2004. Stephanie’s favorite memories from High School included performing in Winter Guard and Color Guard. Stephanie was also a talented Flautist. She was an incredibly intelligent and driven young woman, earning a BA in Liberal Arts from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis and a Master of Science in Technology, Organizational Leadership from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. Stephanie also earned a certification in Spanish Language from the Universidad de Salamanca.
Stephanie was very proud of her educational accomplishments, as well as her career highlights which included multiple roles at Roche Diagnostics (Indianapolis/Madrid), her work as a consultant and her time as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.
When Stephanie wasn’t working, she enjoyed time with her family, friends, the peace, and comfort of home with her boyfriend TJ and spent time painting, writing, playing chess, listening to music, watching movies, and exploring her spirituality.
Stephanie had a life-long history of being very passionate and caring for pets, which included countless cats and dogs, almost everyone being a stray. As a young girl she was also very active with providing foster care for the Humane Society (Lewisville, TX).
Stephanie was also passionate towards several causes including Animal welfare, Arts and culture, Civil rights and Social Action, Disaster and Humanitarian relief, Education, Mental Health, Human Rights, Science and Technology and Social Services.
Stephanie will be remembered by her unwavering loyalty as a friend, girlfriend, sister, daughter, aunt, granddaughter, and cousin. In addition, we will always remember her fearless sense of adventure, loving smile, strength, unlimited compassion, an infectiously great laugh, wickedly sharp sense of humor, affinity for all of God’s creatures, and her love for Vietnamese and Thai Food. Stephanie was gentle and kind and wished for world peace every year on her birthday.
Stephanie is survived by her mother, Andrea Nelson Sachs, her father, Mark Sachs (Susan Sachs), sister, Rachel Torman (Travis Torman), nieces Kennedy, Scarlett and Daisy Torman, boyfriend, TJ Agnew, and grandparents, Rose Nelson, Marilyn Arlin Bischoff, and Marvin Sachs. She is also survived by John and Donna McCurdy and family, Mike and Linda Sachs and Family, The Neben and the Nelson Families.
Stephanie is proceeded in death by her grandfathers William A. Nelson, Carl Bischoff and dear friend Daniel Lawrence.
A celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 7879 Carroll Road in McCordsville, Indiana from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center or IndyHumane. Cremation services entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple.
