Sidney Yvonne Price

Sidney Yvonne Price, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 7, 2022. She was born on June 15, 1935 to the late Richard and Carol Vandeventer. Sidney grew up on a family farm in rural Indiana. She loved the farm dearly and often referred to it in later years. Sidney was a dedicated service representative for All-State Insurance Company until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed beaches and lighthouses. She enjoyed taking short bus trips with her daughter, Dianna. They traveled amongst many states and always had the best time together. Sidney was a collector, she found great joy in her cookbooks, clocks, and Knick knacks that she tastefully displayed. When Sidney wasn’t reading, you could find her roaming the isles at Kohl’s with her friends and daughter. She always excitedly anticipated using her “Kohl’s Cash” to get her 30% off. Most of all, Sidney loved her family. She was the best mother and grandmother. She will be missed sorely by all the lives she has touched.

Sidney is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond F. Price; and her brothers, Arkie L. Vandeventer, Larry D. Vandeventer, and Richard Vandeventer.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Dianna C. Price (Tony) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Michael R. Price (Joy) of Clermont, Florida; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Wheeler of Louisville, Kentucky and Crystal Mouser of Gotha, Florida; her great-grandchildren, Quentin Greene and Jayden Wheeler of Louisville, Kentucky, and Cayden Kimball, Carson Mouser, and Declyn Mouser of Gotha, Florida; sister-in-laws, Earlene and Wanda Vandeventer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46229. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1PM. Sidney will be laid to rest next to her husband, Raymond, in Washington Park East Cemetery.
