Sharon Mae Oswalt

Sharon Mae Oswalt, 71, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022.  She was born on October 28, 1950 in Indianapolis to the late Jay G. and Violet Mae (Jamison) Oswalt.

Sharon grew up on the eastside of Indianapolis, attending School 11 and graduating from Arlington High School.  She earned her BS in Computer Science from IUPUI and worked as a Computer Programmer for Farm Bureau, EDS and Blue Cross/Blue Shield.  Sharon was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority and a former member of East 91st St. Christian Church.

She was a longtime resident of the Willow Glen Apartments in Beech Grove and has lived for several years at Golden Living – Willow Springs.  Prior to her illness, Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her cats.  She will be remembered as an independent woman who was determined, smart and competitive; especially when it came to playing games with her nephew, Robert.

Sharon is survived by her brother, Jay Oswalt; sister-in-law, Marsha (Wade) Oswalt; niece, Michelle Oswalt Mascus; and great-niece, Madison Mascus.  She was preceded in death by her beloved nephew, Dr. Robert Oswalt.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11am at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.  Sharon will be laid to rest with her family in Washington Park East Cemetery at a later date.
